Are you itching to do a little good this winter? Then join the “SHOVEL SQUAD”! Minturn Community Fund is organizing a volunteer snow shoveling crew for our seniors - or anyone else who needs a little helping hand this winter (recovering from that ACL surgery, anyone?). If you’d like to be part of the team “on call”, please sign up to volunteer here:https://www.minturncommunityfund.org/mcf-contact and indicate “Shovel Squad” in the subject line. If you are a neighbor in need of shoveling services from time to time, let us know as well: info@minturncommunityfund.org or call/text Diana at 970-376-4445.

Thank you to those who attended the MInturn Tree Lighting recently. Many giving tree ornaments were claimed, but we still have more!
You can still sponsor a child (or new this year, you can also sponsor a local senior)!
If you are not familiar, the Town of Minturn, the Minturn Community Fund, and the Salvation Army team up each year to help partner donors with children (and new this year - seniors) in need, who could use a little extra help at Christmas-time.
The ornaments are now at Town Hall, on our Christmas tree in the main lobby. The Giving Tree Ornaments are all marked with a tag. The tag lists child or senior, the child's age (if a child), and suggested items they are in need of. Please include the tag with the gift so we can match it up accordingly.
Gifts should be wrapped (with the info tag attached) and returned to Town Hall during regular business hours, no later than Tuesday December 21st.
In addition to sponsoring a child, there are several other opportunities to help. Salvation Army is in need of volunteers for the following holiday assistance programs. If you can help, please use the links below to sign up. And of course, there is always a need for bell-ringers and help in the food pantry (links also below).
Holiday Cabin Toy Drive. Gifts can be brought to the Salvation Army office in Avon (M-F, 9am-5pm). These toys will be given out on Saturday, 12/11 to any families who can make it (so the deadline would be 5pm on 12/10). The Holiday Cabin may be open again on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, December 14 & 16, if not all of the families can make it on the 11th. For more information or questions, please contact the Salvation Army directly at (970) 748-0704.
